Karen Johnson, FNP-C, is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a distinguished career spanning over two decades of healthcare service. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing and FNP certification from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2009. Before transitioning to advanced practice, Karen spent over 20 years as a critical care nurse with Methodist Healthcare System in San Antonio, developing a deep foundation in patient safety and complex care. A proud long-time resident of the Schertz/Cibolo area, Karen is deeply committed to serving her local community. She previously opened her own practice before merging with Hillside Primary Care to expand her reach and impact. Her mission is to improve and maintain each patient’s health through high-quality, preventive, and early detection-focused care, treating every patient like family.

I'm a relatively new patient to Hillside, but I'm incredibly impressed and 100% satisfied with the amazing care and attention to detail they provide. I previously went to Med 1st Schertz, but started looking for another doctor when they began to only allow their patients to talk to the provider about ONE issue during an appointment. So, if someone has 2 things wrong with them, Med 1st requires two visits. Um, no. I've never had a provider who is so quick, thorough and addresses all of my concerns in such a caring manner. They are problem solvers here and will treat you with respect and dignity. I highly recommend Hillside!
The staff here are so kind & friendly. Samantha Logue is such a breath of fresh air as far as PCMs go - she suggests vitamins before medication & offers actual care along with health medicine. I feel really lucky to have found this practice for my primary care!
