Hillside Primary Care, PLLC, doing business as Hillside Medical Group, sends text messages only to people who have agreed to receive them. This page shows exactly how that consent is collected.
Our front-desk and virtual-assistant staff read this script word for word:
“Hillside Medical Group (Hillside Primary Care, PLLC) can text you appointment reminders, schedule changes, check-in and telehealth visit links, portal notices and billing reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Consent is not a condition of care. May we text you at [your mobile number]?”
Only if the patient says yes does staff check the SMS consent box in the patient’s electronic health record, which logs the date, the staff member and the number. The patient then receives this confirmation:
“Hillside Medical Group: You’re enrolled in appointment and account texts. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”
Patients may also sign our SMS consent form, which has an unchecked box they must mark themselves:
Our own employed and contracted clinicians opt in by entering and confirming their mobile number in the Hillside Scribe staff app under this notice: “Hillside Scribe will text this number for urgent lab alerts. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.”
