About Dr. Melissa Kempf, MD
Dr. Melissa Kempf, MD, is a San Antonio native who has spent over 20 years building trusted, long-term relationships with patients across the city she has always called home. As a Family Practice physician at Hillside Primary Care, she brings genuine community connection alongside deep clinical expertise — making her a physician patients return to, year after year.
A graduate of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Dr. Kempf completed her clinical training across both Lubbock and El Paso before finishing her residency at UTMB in Conroe, Texas. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Texas Tech University, and she is a proud alumna of Churchill High School in San Antonio.
Dr. Kempf’s medical career took a distinguished turn through an Air Force scholarship, during which she served as a primary care physician and team leader at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi. Her service included a three-month deployment to Incirlik, Turkey, where she gained invaluable emergency room experience — a breadth of training that continues to inform the comprehensive, attentive care she provides her patients today.
After completing her military commitment, Dr. Kempf returned to San Antonio and has been a dedicated presence in the community for more than two decades. Her patients trust her not only for her clinical knowledge but for the continuity, consistency, and compassionate care she delivers at every visit.
