About Ashley Ellis, MS, RN, FNP-C, RNC-OB, C-EFM
Ashley Ellis is an advanced practice registered nurse with more than 20 years of experience in women’s health, obstetrics, leadership, and patient-centered care. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Cleveland Community College in 2005 and began her nursing career caring for women and children at Atrium Health in Shelby, North Carolina. While working full-time, Ashley completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Winston-Salem State University, graduating summa cum laude in 2013.
Throughout her career, Ashley has gained extensive experience caring for high-risk obstetric and maternal patients in both staff and travel nursing roles. She has also served in numerous nursing leadership positions, including Charge Nurse, Clinical Supervisor, Assistant Nurse Manager, and Nurse Manager, where she has led multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and quality improvement.
In 2017, Ashley earned her Master of Science in Midwifery from Philadelphia University, further expanding her expertise in women’s healthcare across the lifespan. Ashley completed her Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate through the University of Alabama, broadening her scope of practice to provide comprehensive primary care for patients across the lifespan. Her professional interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, patient education, women’s health, and improving healthcare access for underserved populations.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Ashley is committed to building lasting relationships with her patients through compassionate, evidence-based care. She believes that empowering individuals with education and preventive healthcare strategies leads to healthier families and stronger communities. Her long-term goal is to serve medically underserved communities in South Texas while participating in medical mission work that expands access to primary care in underserved regions of Mexico and Costa Rica. Ashley lives in New Braunfels, Texas, with her husband, Wes. Together they have three children and are proud grandparents. Her faith, family, and passion for serving others continue to guide both her personal life and professional practice.
